Onwards and Upwards. MG6 GT's move on to Oulton Park

Thruxton in Hampshire has never been the happiest hunting ground for the MG team since we entered the BTCC in 2012. First time out we suffered in the deluge and a punctured tyre costed Jason Plato an invaluable win in 2013.

A solid points haul was the name of the game this weekend although the hard work of the Triple8 race engineering team - both this weekend and over the off season - had us dreaming of more but ultimately wasn't to be.

Sam Tordoff told us "It was a tough, tough day on Sunday - the car just doesn't seem to like Thruxton at all! Nothing we did made any difference and believe me we tried all sorts! It was a real shame. JP and I gave it everything. We're convinced that Oulton Park will be much better!!!"

So in the end it was points rather than prizes, with Sam scoring in every round and Jason enjoying two top ten finishes (before being clattered in race three and having to retire at the end of the very first lap due to the damage).

The MG6 GTs will no doubt be back at the front when the season resumes at Oulton Park in Cheshire in June. It was the scene of the first ever MG one / two last year and we'll be backing the whole team to give us more of the same!

Off the track MG had a fantastic weekend, thanks in no small part to the MG Car Club and their new car Register. They were simply amazing in helping us to a second successive record test drive haul in the last two race meetings.
