MG On Pole At Rockingham

The MG6 GT of Sam Tordoff will start tomorrow’s Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship race at Rockingham from pole position. 

It was looking for a long period that it would be a front row lock out as the two MGs dominated the majority of Saturday’s qualifying session, but a late lap from Colin Turkington in the rear wheel drive BMW denied Jason Plato a place on the front row.

Tordoff’s lap of 1:22.471 was nearly half a second faster than Turkington and team-mate Plato and for the second successive weekend will start race one from the front of grid. 

Sunday’s racing will start at 11.37, race two is at 13.52, while the third race of the day will start at 16.40. ITV4 will have live coverage from 10.45am and you can follow all the coverage on Facebook and Twitter
