MG returned to the top of the Manufacturer's Championship after a successful trio of races at the Rockingham rounds of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.
Heading into round eight of the Championship trailing the Honda team, double podiums in the first two races of the day helped the Triple Eight run team return to the summit.
Both MG6 GTs finished on the podium in race one but neither were able to secure victory as the rear wheel drive BMW of Colin Turkington was, as expected, too much for Sam Tordoff to hold off on the long straight to the first corner.
Tordoff was on Turkington's tail for most of the race, but was unable to get past and had to settle for second, while team-mate Jason Plato came home in third.
Both MG drivers were on the podium again in race two as Plato and Tordoff swapped positions for second and third respectively but it was Turkington who took a second win of the day in another dominant display.
Race three saw the reverse grid and after a tactical race, more points were earned with Plato finishing in seventh and Tordoff just behind in eighth.
With two rounds to go, at Silverstone and Brands Hatch, the MG team are placed well in their aim for a first Manufacturer's Championship since returning to the BTCC three season's ago.
