The MG6 of Jack Goff secured MG a first victory of the 2015 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car season in race three at Snetterton this afternoon.
After finishing race two in sixth position, it was the young MG driver that was picked out for pole position in the reverse grid, and took full advantage with a dominant performance, leading from start to finish, to earn a maiden BTCC victory.
It came in a weekend of solid points scoring for the MG Triple Eight team, with both drivers finishing in the top ten in all three races.
Andrew Jordan's MG6 narrowly missed out on a place on the podium in the first race of the afternoon.
Starting from fourth on the grid following Saturday's qualifying, it looked as though the 2013 Champion was going to make early inroads after a promising getaway. Unable to pass early on, Jordan battled right the way to the end, putting pressure on Jason Plato for the final place on the podium, but was unable to pass in a race dominated by the three BMR Volkswagens and had to settle for fourth. Colin Turkington took the race victory for his second win of the season.
Jack Goff, who started from seventh, faced stiff competition from the midfield and dropped down to ninth.
The grid for race two, decided by fastest lap from race one, saw Goff start from fourth with Jordan in eighth. Goff dropped back to sixth on the first lap, while Jordan made up a place to finish seventh. At the front, Turkington, the 2014 champion, took his second win of the afternoon.
While Goff took the victory in race three, his teammate battled his way from seventh to fifth as MG closed the gap on Honda as they look to retain the manufacturer title that they won at Brands Hatch in October.
