MG6s qualify on third row at Brands Hatch

Both MG6s will start Sunday's first Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) race at Brands Hatch from the third row of the grid following an impressive debut qualifying for both Josh Cook and Ashley Sutton

Sutton will lead the pair off the grid from fifth after a faultless BTCC qualifying debut that saw him post a lap time of 48.131 seconds, just 0.141 seconds off pole position. Cook all-but matched his teammate for most of the day but had to settle for sixth and a place next to Sutton on the third row.

Early pace for both drivers saw Sutton up on the front row until the halfway point when light drizzle intervened and slowed proceedings. Neither driver managed to improve their early fastest laps but won't be disappointed with their grid positions, following limited pre-season testing, and will be hoping to take their pace into race day.

Sunday's first race will start at 11:32 with race two and three following at 14:12 and 17:12. You can watch all the action on ITV4 and follow live updates on Facebook and Twitter.
