Magnificent one-two for MG in Donington qualifying

The MGs of Ashley Sutton and Josh Cook secured a stunning front-row lock-out for tomorrow's Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) race one at Donington Park. 

Both MG6s set blistering late laps with rookie Sutton taking the pole from teammate Cook by 0.494 seconds with a lap time of 1:11.729. 

After showing good pace in the earlier practice runs, the pair had been running well in tricky conditions in the early stages of the Saturday qualifying. A drying track resulted in a thrilling finale, with provisional pole changing hands almost every time a car crossed the line. Despite a late red flag, it was the MG Triple 8 pair who took charge of the session and put themselves at the front of the field for race one on Sunday.
