MG Motor breaks mid-year records

• MG Motor sees 76.3% growth by mid-2021
• MG outsold total 2019 volume by 519 units at end of June and breaks 1.5% market share five times in 2021
• Pure electric models account for 31.4% of sales mix against an industry average of 8.1

MG Motor has seen a 76.3% year-on-year growth in the UK at the midpoint of 2021, outselling its total 2019 volume by the end of June.

With 137 dealers, MGs are now more widely available than ever before, and over 30 new dealers have joined the brand in the past 12 months.

So far in 2021, the company has also surpassed a 1.5% market share in five separate months, spurred on by its incredible EV performance. 31.4% of MG’s sales mix is all-electric compared to an industry average of 8.1%, making it the fourth biggest EV brand in the market.

Guy Pigounakis, MG’s Commercial Director, said: “Mid-year is the perfect time to reflect on our achievements so far in 2021, a year which has seen us constantly outperform the market in what have been some really tough trading conditions.
